Upstairs at Fab Five
Located just above our main studio floor, Upstairs at Fab Five is a conference space designed for the 'Connect' in our Create. Make. Connect. mission, seating 25-30 people for our crafting parties or your own private events.
Whether you’re gathering for a casual afternoon with friends, a milestone celebration, or a strategy retreat with colleagues, this space offers a quiet atmosphere away from the hum of the workshop below.
It’s the perfect setting to brainstorm your next big idea or simply enjoy the company of those who matter most, and we are able to facilitate through crafting events or just allow you to set your own agenda.
Versatile for Every Occasion:
Our 800 square foot room -- which includes a kitchenette and bathroom -- allows for you to set up your space in whatever way you choose. We will work with you to lay out the tables and chairs in the best configuration for:
Friends & Family: A warm, welcoming space for birthdays, bridal showers, or "just because" craft nights.
Colleagues: A professional, quiet environment for university retreats, nonprofit board meetings, or team-building sessions.
Firing Up, Chips! Whether you are celebrating a weekend with alumni friends or a recent graduate, we can accommodate your needs while you visiting downtown Mt. Pleasant!

Accessibility
As part of our authentic studio charm, Upstairs at Fab Five is accessible only via a flight of stairs. If you or your guests have specific mobility needs, please let us know in advance so we can discuss how to best accommodate your gathering on our main floor. Once upstairs, there is a fully accessible restroom and plenty of space for anyone with limited mobility.
Capacity
Our space is designed for intentional connection and comfort. We comfortably host up to 25 guests for a seated meeting or 30 for a casual social gathering.
Food & Drink
Yes! You are welcome to bring your own snacks, cake, or coffee. For professional retreats or longer parties, we can provide a list of our favorite local Mt. Pleasant caterers. Note: If you plan to serve alcohol, please inquire about our specific studio policy and insurance requirements."
WiFi and Tech Support
Absolutely. We offer high-speed Wi-Fi and a large presentation screen. It’s the perfect ‘retreat’ environment for university departments or nonprofit boards looking to step away from the office while staying connected.
Local Group Discounts
Yes! In keeping with our 'Connect' mission, we offer a 10% discount on rental fees for local 501(c)(3) nonprofits and student organizations from CMU, Mid-Mich, and Alma College."
